The brief was to knock all of these down and rebuild the rear part of the house to create a more unified whole.

This included extending the ground floor kitchen across the full width of the property for a more pleasing relationship with the garden. At first floor level, the challenge was to increase the size of rooms as much as possible without impinging on the neighbours right to light.

One particular design decision for the first floor bathroom was to install a large skylight rather than a window in the wall which both have more privacy and freed up wall space for valuable storage.
